IOWA CITY – On April 22, 2014 at 10:56pm, Iowa City Police officers were dispatched to Romantix at 315 Kirkwood Av for a robbery that had just occurred. A female employee reported a lone male had entered the business, threatened her, and demanded she give him money. The employee retreated from the suspect who grabbed cash from the register and fled. No weapon was displayed. The employee was shaken by the incident but physically unharmed.
The suspect is described as a fair-skinned male, 6′-01″, and thin. He is believed to have been wearing a navy blue or dark-colored hooded sweatshirt pulled over a ball-cap, dark-colored shorts, and sneakers.
ICPD officers flooded the area but did not locate the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
