MASON CITY – A wanted Mason City couple thought they could outrun cops, but lost the chase and were arrested Tuesday on a swath of charges.
Police said that on Tuesday morning at about 9:30 AM, officers from the Mason City Police Department were conducting a warrant check at 515 9th Street NW. Shortly after the officers were at the residence, a male and female ran from the residence. After a foot pursuit, both subjects were apprehended. Taken into custody first were Tabitha Marie Jones-Hamilton, age 23, and her husband, Allen Keith Hamilton, also age 23.
Tabitha Marie Jones-Hamilton was wanted on warrants related to failure to appear in court on a third degree theft charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge.
Allen Keith Hamilton was wanted on warrants related to violation of pre-trial release on a forgery charge, second degree burglary, unauthorized use of a credit card and identity theft; violation of pre-trial release related to another forgery charge and fourth degree theft; failure to appear in court on a third degree theft charge, and new charges of trespassing and third degree burglary.
Tabitha Hamilton was also charged with Interference with Official Acts and Allen Hamilton was charged with Interference with Official Acts and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both subjects were taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail where Allen Hamilton was held on $15,900 in charges and one No Bond warrant, and Tabitha Hamilton was held on $2,600 in charges and bond.
More charges are pending further investigation, police said.

So everyone has to be arrested on the presumption that they might break the law? We should arrest a person for that then. If a person gets drunk and does not hurt anyone they should be left alone. If they commit a crime we can arrest them for that. To presumptuously arrest everyone because of what someone else MIGHT do is ridiculous. If some clown has a red bull and gets in a fight, the next guy who drinks a red bull should not be arrested.

Ah yes, Hamilton is still on the loose. This guy has been in jail so many times for drug pushing they have a cell reserved for him with his name on it. Bring back capital punishishment
