Two Twin Cities men arrested with exotic drug “khat”

NORTH IOWA – The North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force arrested two men this week for possession of an exotic drug from Africa.

According to Cerro Gordo County Sheriff Kevin Pals, on Thursday, April 17, members of the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force in the course of an ongoing narcotics investigation arrested Abdi-Deeq Sheikh Ahmed Imankey, age 34, of Minneapolis, MN. Imankey was found to be in possession of more than 100 pounds of a drug called Khat.

Khat is a flowering plant that is native to the Horn of Africa. Khat contains Cathinone, an amphetamine-like stimulant which is said to cause euphoria and manic behaviors similar in effects to those produced by amphetamine. Khat is used mostly by chewing the plant. Khat is a schedule 1 controlled substance in the United States and Iowa. The Khat seized today had an estimated street value of $50,000.

Imankey was charged with possession of Khat with the intent to deliver – a class “C” felony – and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a Class “D” felony. Imankey is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail.

Also this week, on Tuesday, April 15, the task force arrested Dayax Abdi Ahmed, age 38, of Apple Valley, MN. Ahmed was found to be in possession of multiple pounds of Khat. He was charged with possession of Khat with the intent to deliver – a class “C” felony – and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a Class “D” felony. Ahmed is being held in the Worth County Jail. The Khat seized Tuesday had an estimated street value of $8,000.

You may have been able to use KAT in your country but you are in America now, home of the free which means we will are free to take both your home and freedom.

Welcome to the home of the free.

This is a mild stimulant akin to nicotine and Yerba Mata. Why the rush to ban everything?

Many Muslim immigrants have no inclination to follow the laws of our land. They thumb their noses at our rules of law and proceed to live under the laws of their medieval Sharia. I hope these two drug dealers get to spend a long time in prison, but actually prison’s too good for them.

The like to get high? Shucks instead of a drug why not a rope around their neck and hang em high!

We should not have choices, the state should dictate what we put into our bodies.

If “KHAT” wasn’t illegal, half the taxicab drivers in the Twin Cities would be chewing it while on duty. Does that sound like a good idea? Do you really think drug laws are made to oppress you? I bet your mentor who sold that idea to you was high at the time.

Most people are on drugs at any one time. 1 our of 5 are lit up on nicotine, it used to 1 out of 2. If it’s not nicotine it’s booze and prescription pills. KHAT is a milder substance and safer then most Americans are on. You’ve been brainwashed, sold a false bill of goods.

Yeah, stupid brainwashed me..I don’t use drugs..Do you ever listen to what you’re saying? duh.
