Iowa DOT auction to be held April 26

iowa-dot-logo-2014AMES – A public auction of state-owned equipment and a limited number of vehicles will be held by the Iowa Department of Transportation on its grounds in Ames, Saturday, April 26, beginning at 9 a.m.

The sale will be held in the auction building south of the Iowa DOT’s sign shop on South Fourth Street.

Full payment for the items must be made the day of sale. All items are sold “as is” and without warranty, all known defects are clearly disclosed.

Approximately 50 vehicles and mowing equipment will be included in this sale due to the cancellation of the vehicle sale originally scheduled for May 31. Vehicles and larger equipment will be sold first in the lot near the auction building.

Office equipment to be sold includes phone equipment, cameras, camcorders, laptop computers, overhead projector, a Pitney Bowes mailing machine, and other items. Cabinets, several oak and wood desks, computer table, computer hutches, book cases, tables, and chairs will also be sold.

Shop equipment items included in the sale are a battery charger, chisel, cordless drills, survey equipment, bench grinder, jack hammers, mowers, and snowblowers.

Automotive supplies in the sale include radios, tires, and other items.

Items for sale may be inspected at the sale site from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 25, and from 7 to 9 a.m. Saturday, April 26.

New bid numbers will be issued for all bidders. The new numbers will be larger and easier to read. Please bring a driver’s license with you to the sale. The information from your driver’s license will be scanned into the system and a new bid number issued. For those without a driver’s license, information can be manually input.

Payment for the items must be made in cash, cashier’s check, or certified check. Personal or company checks will be accepted, if accompanied by satisfactory identification. Items may be removed from the Iowa DOT grounds after full payment has been made and buyers have receipts for their purchases. All items purchased must be removed by Friday, May 2.

Sales tax will be collected. Dealers must provide tax-exemption numbers to be exempted from the tax.

Lynch Auction Co. of Boone will conduct the auction. Coffee, sandwiches and cold drinks will be available for purchase at the auction site.

I wonder if the state has any equipment for building condom houses?

@Buzz-maybe they can donate some 16″ tires that can be buried in the mud.

…am wondering if any of these vehicles might be the “land speeder” the “guvner” uses to get around…as we all know what his “older” model looks like now!

I know where there is some military surplus they can have real cheap. We have no need for it here.
