UConn (32-8) never trailed in the game, which was still very close. Kentucky (29-11) fell behind by as many as 15 points, only to scrap to within one with just over 8 minutes left in the game. Kentucky missed eleven free throws while UConn was a perfect ten-for-ten from the line.
