MASON CITY – A Mason City burglar already on probation for felony burglary pleaded guilty to possession of meth and will go to Beje Clark for 6 months.
Justin Lee Holt, age 37, had earlier this entered his guilty plea to possession of meth and was sentenced Wednesday, April 2 to 180 days at the Beje Clark halfway house by Judge Annette Boehlje. Judge Boehlje suspended a 5 year prison term and a $750 fine, while placing Holt on probation for another 5 years.
Holt was already on probation for a guilty plea to a charge of felony D third degree burglary. In October of 2013, Judge Boehlje sentenced Holt to 5 years in prison for felony D 3rd degree Burglary, but the sentence was suspended. He was also placed on probation for 3 years and a fine was suspended. Judge Boehlje also dismissed a second charge of felony D third degree burglary, and a felony C 1st degree theft charge was pled down to simple misdemeanor 5th degree theft. He received 30 days in jail.
Also on Wednesday in court, Holt pleaded guilty to theft in the third degree. He had faced a felony D charge of second degree theft for breaking into Dimensional Graphics last November. Judge Boelhje again suspended a prison sentence of two years and a $625 fine and placed him on two years of probation. She threw out a charge of felony D third degree burglary.
Holt now awaits a probation revocation hearing later this month. He is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $5,000 bond.
