NIT – The family of Fred Phelps said there will be no funeral for patriarch Fred Phelps.
Margie Phelps, Fred Phelps’ daughter, told a Topeka radio station that there will be no funeral.
Phelps’ family gave no reason for denying the funeral, but his former church, which he was excommunicated from, Westboro Baptist Church “[thanked] God for Fred Phelps Sr.’s passing”.
Phelps died late Wednesday. He is the founder of the infamous Westboro Baptist Church, known for picketing military funerals and its hatred of gay and lesbian persons.
