NIT – Reports are now confirmed that the “pastor of hate”, Fred Phelps, is dead as of late Wednesday. He had been in a hospice for some time, and no cause of death was released.
Fred Waldron Phelps, Sr. headed the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), which is known for its hatred of homosexuals and the picketing of funerals for military servicemen.
Phelps’ WBC, founded in 1955 in Topeka, Kansas, proclaims that it “engages in daily peaceful sidewalk demonstrations opposing the homosexual lifestyle of soul-damning, nation-destroying filth.”
Reports later surfaced that said Phelps had been ex-communicated from his own church for advocating for the kinder treatment of his own fellow church members.
Phelps told a Huffington Post reporter in 2010, regarding his own death, that “When the time comes, I will leave my old body. My new body will be a part of God. That’s our inheritance. God says, “They shall hunger no more. They shall thirst no more.” What’s the matter with you? Don’t you know the Bible? You are about the most ignorant person I’ve ever seen.”
Due to the outrageous nature of the funeral protests, complete with taunts at mourners, name-calling, and offensive signs, two federal laws were enacted to help diminish the disruptions the WBC caused. In 2006, a law created a 150-foot protective zone which forbids picketing at military funerals within one hour of the service. Later, in 2012, a law was passed that made the zone 300 feet and forbids picketing within two hours of a funeral service.
Fred Phelps’ granddaughter, Megan Phelps-Roper, said Thursday that “I’m so sorry for the harm he caused. That we all caused. But he could be so kind and wonderful. I wish you all could have seen that, too.”

Same place every other deceased person ends up. I don’t believe anything you do or don’t do on this planet makes any difference. There is no Solar Accountant in the Sky keeping track of it all. Besides, think about it…his only so called “offenses” are thoughts in nature. People have angry thoughts all the time under a variety of circumstances. When people come out of anesthesia, sometimes they say mean things they wouldn’t normally say, like being drunk. None of it matters.
Think about it. If a rodent is cursing the python who is swallowing it, having all sorts of bad and “evil” thoughts, do you think those thoughts matter? If a human is being attacked and they curse and think “bad” things against the attacker, do you think those thoughts matter? Even the systematic slaughter of Jews is really just an organized direction of labor, allowable under the physics of this world. I don’t believe anything one thinks, says, or does matters in this world at all.
All that matters is who has power and control.
It all matters. Maybe your right and there is no God. Who it really matters to are the people you share the earth with.

Ditto. Are you aware that some chemicals can be applied to slow down or speed up dopamine-serotonin levels to such a degree that you could be rendered unable to form thoughts at all? It’s called Haldol/Thorazine. Severe Mental Retardation: Science has the capability to take an infant from birth and alter its brain waves so that it stays in a perpetually retarded state rendering it unable to think about God or Jesus at all. Then what? You’re far too simple in your beliefs.
I am open minded in my beliefs, I just choose the one I thought was the right one for me. The bible says that once we are able to understand right from wrong is when we have to make that choice. The children that are too young to know will go to heaven, if they are mentally not able to make that decision they will go to heaven. Is that simple enough for you?

Does that apply to Iraqi and Afghan children too? Especially the ones killed incidentally by your team’s bombs trying to get the bad guy. Maybe the General told you all in a training video that “any children killed as a result of drone attacks, bombs or stray bullets, are guaranteed to go to heaven so don’t worry too much if you see dead children on the streets”. I’ll bet you guys all bought it too. Little Muslim children with Hershey bars right?

@maybe-The people I know that were in Iraq and Afghanistan told me they were scared of the kids because they would try to be nice to them and the kids would throw grenades at them. I know one girl who was scared to death of being around kids for a long time after she got home.
