Des Moines man arrested after North End domestic incident

MASON CITY – Police broke up a domestic incident late Tuesday at a North End residence and took a wanted Des Moines man to jail.

Police said that the incident unfolded at about 11:45 PM Tuesday at 622 North Penn Ave. Officers were dispatched for what was reported as a burglary in progress. Dispatchers were alerted that a black male with a ‘gun on his hip’ was trying to break into the residence.

Police, however, said that the situation was not a break-in.

“It ended up to be more of a domestic-type argument between various people,” an officer told NIT Wednesday.

According to a source, a number of people were at the scene, with yelling and screaming taking place. A person who stopped to watch told NIT that “vehicles had windows busted on them from black females.”

Police sorted out the situation and arrested a convicted felon, 34-year-old Littleton William Clark of Des Moines, who was wanted on Polk county arrest warrants for violating terms of his parole from prison. He had been wanted since October 7, 2013.

Clark is in the Cerro Gordo County Jail awaiting transport to Des Moines.

Here we go again with the North End crap! This news source is obviously very opinionated and slanted to the editor’s side of town and political choices

So, what’s your point? You access this site on purpose and complain that you don’t like it?

@Anonymous-don’t take it so personal. He is trying to point out that there is an ongoing crime problem in the what he considers the North End which if you go by the street signs he is correct. These people (and it is always someone from somewhere else) continue to create a problem and it is not getting better. I do not consider 6th street the North End (I consider it the center of the city. As far as I am concerned I think the real North End starts at 10th street north and goes from Pennsylvania to Pierce. Up here in the far north end things seem to have gotten better at least on the few blocks near our home. They have a huge drug problem in a Elwood owned house on North Madison just north of 15th street but that is a ways from us. From what I understand there are drug deals going on constantly in the Madison House and nothing is done because of the owners.

Amen to that

Another damn import polluting our town.
