NORA SPRINGS – A Nora Springs man who faced eight charges of sexual abuse of a minor has pleaded guilty to at least one of the charges Monday in Floyd County District Court.
The Nora Springs Police Department had brought four counts of felony B second-degree sexual abuse and four counts of felony C third-degree sexual abuse against 70-year-old Ronald Calvert. The abuse allegedly began in 2006.
Calvert was arrested by the Floyd county sheriff and held in jail on $35,000 bond since December.
Calvert originally pleaded not guilty to all the charges and his lawyer fought expanded media coverage of his trial.
