San Luis, Ariz. — An El Paso man wanted on sex charges in Texas was apprehended Monday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers assigned to the Port of San Luis.
Officers first referred the man for additional questioning when he attempted to enter the United States through a pedestrian lane, giving officers a fictitious name. During a routine records check, officers learned the man was actually Gerardo Pinedo, a 22-year-old man wanted on two outstanding arrest warrants for sex crimes involving a child and resisting/evading arrest. He was turned over to the San Luis Police Department.
