MASON CITY – Parents, NIACC would like to have you on campus to show you the opportunities that are available to your children.

Parents are invited to a special evening at North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) to learn more about the opportunities available for their children as they consider their college options. Planning ahead is helpful to families, so this evening is designed for families who have children in grades 9-12, however everyone is welcome.

“We invite parents to come, with or without their high school student, so they can meet our staff and see what NIACC has to offer with programs, majors and clubs,” said NIACC Admissions Director Rachel McGuire. “This is an evening devoted to families so they can visit with our faculty, staff and students about the opportunities for their kids and maybe even themselves. We have many adult students at NIACC. We welcome students of all ages to attend this event.”

Parent’s Night will be held Thursday February 27, 2014, at 5:30 pm in the NIACC Activity Center.

There will be several sessions to choose from during the event, including:

– Career Link – opportunities for high school students to earn college credit while in high school
– Financial Aid – how to plan and pay for college
– Transferring – understand how NIACC courses transfer to other colleges and universities

To register for the evening, go to www.niacc.edu/admissions/parents-night/.
