MASON CITY – The Mason City fire department responded to a potential emergency Saturday morning at a local credit union.
At 8:44 AM, emergency responders went to the North Iowa Credit Union, located at 640 S. Federal Avenue for what was said to be the smell of wire burning somewhere in the building.
Employees were evacuated to the front of the building.
After investigating, the Fire Department reported that the building did have a burning electrical smell and advised the bank to call an electrician. The employees went back inside.
A call to the bank produced a message that stated that the bank is unable to take calls on Saturday mornings and that only the drive through is open those days.
