WASHINGTON – President Obama delivered his fifth State of the Union Address Tuesday night.
The president talked about rising graduation rates, balancing the budget, job creation, health care, and working together.
“Let’s make this a year of action,” the president said, challenging Americans to work hard and prosper.
“If we work together, if we summon what is best in us…I know it’s within our reach. Believe it,” he said.
The president said that too many work too hard for too little, that gun violence is out control, and that all Americans should have health insurance.
Touching on the war in the Middle East, he thanks those that have served, and he said all U.S. troops are out of Iraq, and “together with our allies, we will complete our mission by the end of this year, and America’s longest war will finally be over.”
Mr. Obama said he envisions “a rising America where opportunity for all let’s us go as far as our dreams and toll will take us … none of it is easy.”
