MASON CITY – Taking drugs to the jail could prove to be a costly mistake for a Mason City woman.
Cerro Gordo deputies conducted a traffic stop at 2:20 AM Thursday morning at the corner of 6th Street SE and Delaware Avenue due to a violation. The driver, 37-year-old Heather Leigh Twaddle of Mason City, was arrested for driving while license suspended and taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail. During the course of the booking process, Twaddle was searched, and a controlled substance and other drug paraphernalia was discovered. She was charged with driving while suspended (simple misdemeanor), possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor), two counts of felony D possession of contraband, and one count of felony D possession of a controlled substance.
Twaddle was released on her own recognizance and awaits an unknown court date.
SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY
What gets me is the fact that these repeat offenders will never learn- so instead of letting them back out on the streets with in advertant permission to re offend some more, lock their dumb asses up!! Be DONE with them…
It is my understanding that she is already on disability for “fibromyalgia”. What a joke! She sells her prescribed medication that “We, the Tax Payers” give to her for free!!

These people are old enough to know right from wrong and need to take responsibility for their actions. They make a conscious decision to use drugs knowing it is against the law. Then the dopers turn around and want people to feel sorry for them. Bull Sh##. They don’t work, they don’t pay taxes, they don’t have health insurance and live off the welfare system that the rest of us pay for. Wow-that sure sounds like someone I have heard of before. Buzz, LVS, it’s hard for you guys to understand the concepts I propose because you’re looking at it from where society stands now. It seems as though “giving” someone free land (I quotation “giving” because how can you give what’s not yours in the first place?) equates lazy good-for-nothing Communism…something you’ve both probably been raise to equate with the devil. But it is my belief that quite the opposite will be the result. Society will actually get smarter, more just, and more businesses and products will result. Top down approach works up to a point, but when the Controllers no longer make obscene profits, they pack up, ship overseas and leave the workers high and dry.
I really should write a small book or pamphlet and charge $3.99 for it so you could physically have it in your hands, and read it at your convenience. It’s complicated beyond what I can write out in blog style communiques. A great day with another doper off the road. The only problem is these brain dead drug addicts destroy their bodies and the responsible have to support them through their taxes. There should be no government money for dopers who have made themselves unable to work.
I agree those who seek public assistance should be able to be drug tested. But that also includes tests for nicotine, caffeine and alcohol consumption. I also believe all sugary crap foods should be banned from food stamps. I also believe Section 8 public housing should be forced to include food growing facilities if the landlords want to qualify as a section 8 rental. Cities should be forced to provide public food growing areas. State’s should be forced to designate food growing areas on state land and require food stamp recipients to work on them. All female recipients of Child Welfare should be forced to insert Norplant upon presenting with the first child, and only able to remove the Norplant after demonstrating several years off of public assistance.
But all these solutions pale compared to the real problem in society which is a systemic faulty design.
It said she was stopped “due to a violation”. 4th amendment dictates you need probable cause to pull someone over. So what was it?

Not pro drugs at all. I’m against drug use actually. I just don’t see it as an “actionable offense” that should be in our law books. It’s a consumer’s choice what to put in their bodies, or what to do with their bodies. ( I disagree with abortion however because I subscribe to the “potential future citizen” view in legal consensual non-rape conceptions). Crimes should be designated only if they contain a victim, other than the person committing the offense.
And no, I’m not anti police. I like the idea of a police force protecting public safety and assisting in times of emergencies. I am against using police power to enforce drug laws though. Think of it as hating the sin, and not the sinner.
But I will clause this by saying sensible conciliatory laws will need to be drafted, and I suppose in the beginning of decriminalization it will be stipulated that citizens are able to use substances freely providing they cannot be attached to other crimes. So if people want drugs legalized, they better start cleaning up their act. What I want to see is NO OTHER CRIMES being committed other than simple possession charges. This will give those of us who lobby for decriminalization the greatest vantage point. If you continue to rob and do other crimes, you’re giving simple possession a bad name.
Is it possible for drug dealers to police themselves? Can you refuse to sell to known burglars, robbers, thieves etc? Because you know the view of most dealers by the legalization movement is dealers want drugs to continue to be illegal because they don’t care, and want profits over anything.
I believe when we decriminalize drugs, we will get rid of so many of the troublemakers, and people will be able to consume their products in relative safety, and get help accordingly if they develop problems from their use. Government will be able to oversee and control distribution, quality and purity. There will be no reason for people to bootleg their own, when you can simply go down to Walgreens and buy some off the shelf.

She gets pulled over on a regular basis driving while suspended. Her probation for the last 40 times she was arrested with meth most likely allows. I’d say the fried ads look of prescription drug abuse was enough. She also would be stupid enough to leave syringes or her glass duck sitting next to her.
The last 4 charges she was arrested for about 2 months ago magically disappeared when she made a deal to give up some of her drug selling friends. I’m surprised she hasn’t been murdered yet.
I agree that her kids are better off without her, but unfortunately heather still pops up pretending to care. When kiley went missing and the FBI was out looking for her nationwide, it was heather twaddle that sat back and didn’t do much to help while she had 4 warrants she was hiding from.

Well, you know the I and the U are generally right next to each other on a keyboard. I think Matt has the ability to put in automatic word replaces on the website for profane words. I would rather see word substitutions than entire comments disappear. I for one believe that sometimes a person needs to vent, and swearing helps. As long as some shielding occurs to assist those who may be sensitive to seeing a swear word printed out in its entirety, I like reading the frustration levels or passion in writers’ voices. Profanity can also be comedic and entertaining at times. Right now, I believe he has a spam filter that takes your comment away and trashes it if you use the F word…but I have noticed you are able to use da**, hell, sh** etc. basic ones. Anyway, profanity doesn’t bother me, unless it’s in a spam or nonsense context.
Heather Twaddle is the worst kind of drug addict. She’s been known to prostitute herself for Meth and even Marijuana (who has sex for weed?) She pops pills like you wouldn’t believe and has been with more men than you can imagine. I have not seen her in quite some time and I am happy about that. Seeing her face, even on the internet makes me cringe. It honestly does make me cringe, that is no exaggeration.
She has bragged to many people about sneaking narcotics into CGCJ in the past. I’m glad she finally got caught doing it.
TO LAW ENFORCEMENT: If you see this individual walking down the street, it is a safe bet she has narcotics or insulin syringes on her person, as she abuses such a wide variety of them and goes to such extremes to get them that she does not ever go without. Be cautious of the needles!!!

She was arrested for driving under suspended license, and had drugs in her pockets, which were discovered by deputies when they strip search you at the jail. It was obviously stupid on her part to not get the drugs out of her pockets before the deputy approached her car. Matt’s article is misleading. He does this on purpose to be sly.
