NIT – If you are one of the millions of women glued to the TV every week for the hit show “The Bachelor” … or one of the men who are forced by their wives or girlfriends to watch the drama-filled reality show, then you know the “Juan Pablo Mania” has swept the nation. The all-Venezuelan ex-soccer star hunk Juan Pablo Galavis has stolen the hearts of viewers so far, but he may have soured his appeal after ranting Friday about how he feels that gays are a bad example for kids and shouldn’t be on TV.

According to an interview for thetvpage.com, Juan Pablo said Friday that he would be 100 percent opposed to having a cycle of the reality dating show feature an openly gay or bisexual bachelor.

“I don’t think it is a good example for kids to watch that on TV,” he told a reporter while promoting “The Bachelor” show at a network party in Pasadena, Calif.

Juan Pablo continued to dig himself into a hole, trying to explain his poor choice of words.

“Obviously people have their husband and wife and kids and that is how we are brought up. Now there is fathers having kids and all that, and it is hard for me to understand that too in the sense of a household having peoples… Two parents sleeping in the same bed and the kid going into bed… It is confusing in a sense. But I respect them because they want to have kids. They want to be parents. So it is a scale… Where do you put it on the scale? Where is the thin line to cross or not? You have to respect everybody’s desires and way of living. But it would be too hard for TV.”

Juan Pablo went on to accuse gay people of being “more pervert in a sense.”

CNN reported that the ABC television network called his comments “careless, thoughtless and insensitive,” saying the opinions “in no way reflect the views of the network, the show’s producers or studio.”

As the fallout from his comments continues to escalate, Juan Pablo made an apology Saturday via social media:

People,

I want to apologize to all the people I may have offended because of my comments on having a Gay or Bisexual Bachelor. The comment was taken out of context. If you listen to the entire interview, there’s nothing but respect for Gay people and their families. I have many gay friends and one of my closest friends who’s like a brother has been a constant in my life especially during the past 5 months. The word pervert was not what I meant to say and I am very sorry about it. Everyone knows English is my second language and my vocabulary is not as broad as it is in Spanish and, because of this, sometimes I use the wrong words to express myself. What I meant to say was that gay people are more affectionate and intense and for a segment of the TV audience this would be too racy to accept. The show is very racy as it is and I don’t let my 5 year old daughter watch it. Once again, I’m sorry for how my words were taken. I would never disrespect anyone.

Sinceramente,

Juan Pablo Galavis.

Love it it eh? That is what you call it?

I side with the actor, Juan Pablo Galavis. No need for your lifestyle of “love” to be on TV. Keep it yourself and I will keep mine to myself.

I feel sorry for the homosexual community. It has to be very difficult being born with a birth defect and having people look at you as challenged.

I have accepted that there are those born with the affliction but I still believe there are many that simply choose the queer lifestyle because of lust.

Let’s clear this up right up front, I am a Cynic not homophobic, whatever that is supposed to mean.

Just saying.

i have no problem with gays but keep that shit private i have no desire to see gay love on tv.

Then turn the channel. But answer me this question. What’s the difference seeing a man & woman slapping their shit on TV compared between two men or two women? NONE! I understand its everyone’s own opinion but there is no difference, love making is love making period. Like I said if you don’t like it turn the channel or turn the other way!

I think Juan ment to say, estraga. You must be careful what you say anymore, free speech is a thing of the past. Phil Robertson, Juan Pablo, who’s next. It all makes for boring reading.

Who cares. He is entitled to his opinion.

People like LVS would sit and watch homosexuals get executed and do nothing about it if that’s what was occurring. They have no balls to stand up for what’s right and ethical. They are total cads for status-quo inertia and “tradition”.

@Philly-I don’t know much about homosexuals but I do know that everyone is entitled to their opinion and that includes people who don’t like the lifestyle. As far as watching people get executed, I wouldn’t watch seeing a bunch of split personality, crazy people get knocked off. Just look at the money we would save if we got rid of the Philly’s of this world. They are nothing but a waste on society. They serve no purpose and only draw resources that could be better spent on sane people. I mean, how productive can one be living in their mothers basement and listening to Harley Pipes playing in the street.

@Philly-you are so damn stupid. You just won’t leave it alone. I guess that is what crazy people do, it must be because you are sure mentally challenged and won’t leave it alone will you momma’s boy.

@Monique-if you really want to see hate just read your own post. It is one of the most hate filled rants I have ever seen. It isn’t his fault you are different and he can believe whatever he wants. It may be real hard for you to believe but there are lots of Christians who also do not support your lifestyle.

Hard for her to believe there are a lot of Christians who don’t support homosexuality? I’m sure she’s well aware of all the “Christians” who don’t support homosexuality. LVS still can’t climb out from behind his safe status quo way of thinking. If it wasn’t “normal” in 1953, then it’s not normal for LVS now.

Legal doesn’t make it right. If you want a classic example of that look at Philly. A grown man/child sitting in his mothers basement writing on here all day like he knows something. He can’t hold a job and spends half his time in the mental wards because of his metal issues. Yet he thinks he can talk about other people. He is an admitted illegal drug user and a loser. I have nothing against the gay community at all. That being said doesn’t mean I must support it either.

I see you like to judge, but not be judged.

Think your special do yah?

Better then other people? Specially gays right?

That’s your opinion isn’t it?

Why don’t you put down that beer, and try reading your bible. That tells you to love your neighbor. No matter who or what he is.

@Billy-you are a special kind of STUPID.

What would Peter Children say?

Yeah, Petey John!

He’s the godfather of mason city now.

Some guys say Petey John was made in 71, some guys say 69. Some guys say even as far back as 67, when he got his colors.

Pete Children would say gays ok prolly I think.

But then again who knows with Petey John.
