Pit bull bite to face sends child to hospital

pit-pull-attackCHARLES CITY – A child was bitten in the face by a pit bull last week and received medical treatment for the injuries.

According to the Charles City Police Department, on January 6th at about 4:55 PM, officers took a report of a dog bite at the Floyd County Medical Center.

Police said that a child of undisclosed age was playing at a residence at the 100 block of Park Avenue when a “pitbull type dog” bit the child in the face.

The child was transferred from Floyd County Medical Center to Mercy Hospital in Mason City for treatment. Police could not disclose any other information regarding the incident other than to confirm that the child had been hospitalized.
