MASON CITY – A man out for an early morning stroll on the city’s North End ended up in jail Friday.
According to police, Friday morning at 3:46 AM, an officer observed a male subject walking in the 1300 block of North Federal Avenue. The officer suspected the male to be a wanted man, 22-year-old Cameron Brunstein of Mason City. When confronted by the police officer, the man tried to claim he was someone else, but another MCPD officer recognized him to be Brunstein and placed him under arrest.
Officers found a pot pipe on Brunstein during the arrest. He was charged with interference with official acts and possession of drug paraphernalia taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail and held on $5,000 cash bond.
Brunstein was wanted on an arrest warrant that was issued on December 4, 2013, for a probation violation stemming from his guilty plea to felony forgery. He awaits a February 21, 2014 court date.
