MASON CITY – A Mason City man who is no stranger to banned substances was stopped by police Thursday and arrested on a drug possession charge.
According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy stopped a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Charles Edward Maxwell at about 2:00 PM at the 400 block of South Taylor Avenue for traffic offenses. During the stop, marijuana was discovered, and Maxwell was arrested.
Maxwell posted an unknown bond amount and was quickly released.
Maxwell is a convicted felon. He was charged by Mason City police in 2006 with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana. He plead guilty to a charge of felony B controlled substance violation.
