DES MOINES – Today, the Iowa Republican party pleaded with its social media followers to help find new recruits to bolster its voter registration numbers.
“Help the Republican Party of Iowa increase its voter registration advantage against the Iowa Democrats,” the Iowa GOP said via social media.
Iowa’s January voter registration numbers gave Republicans a slight edge with 616,762 registered while Democrats trailed with 615,428. Those who affiliate with no party lead the way with 719,917 registered voters.
At the same time on Monday, Iowa Governor Terry Branstad announced a large bank account holding over $ million dollars, should he decide to formally announce his candidacy for sixth term as governor.
The 2014 election in Iowa will be held on November 4, 2014 and will see Iowans choose a new member of the United States Senate to replace incumbent Democratic Senator Tom Harkin, who has said that he will not seek re-election to a sixth term. Also on the ballot will be candidates for Iowa Governor, county supervisor seats and other local elected positions.
Well good luck with that!!! The only way the GOP is ever going to redeem themselves, is if they flush the Tea Party down the toilet. Until they realize that is the major objection to the GOP by mainstream republicans and conservative democrats progress will be little to none….
The only way republicans will get more people is when they stop doing drugs and get off welfare.
