Mason City schools cancel classes for Monday, January 6th

MASON CITY – Extreme cold on its way to North Iowa has school district officials in Mason City planning ahead today, as students will not be attending classes on Monday, January 6th.

Due to the extreme weather predictions for Monday, January 6, 2014, the Mason City Community School District has cancelled school and classes for that day. The Administrative Offices located at 1515 S. Pennsylvania Ave. will be open.

Already cold temps will soon be nosediving in the North Iowa region, weather forecasters are predicting. Temps for Monday will reach double-digits below zero and extremely dangerous wind chills.

Already in North Iowa, wind chill warnings and blowing snow advisories are in effect with no relief is sight for days.
