MASON CITY – Police removed a wanted man from the streets Saturday.
Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s deputies encountered 24-year-old Timothy Dean Smith, Junior at Pennsylvania Avenue and 1st Street SE in Mason City at just after 3 PM Saturday and stopped his vehicle. He was immediately arrested for driving while barred.
Smith was also wanted on other warrants. He has been wanted on a warrant since November 19th for failing to appear in court for a contempt hearing after he allegedly violated a no contact order on November 10th. The no-contact order had been imposed by Judge Annette Boehlje in October after he plead guilty to a charge of domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury.
On November 27th, another arrest warrant was issued for Smith for failing to appear in court for a hearing on a third or subsequent offense of public intoxication, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Smith is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail at this time.
SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.

@wendigo-havalina is so damn tough about the only thing you can do with it is make chili out of it. The one I shot with a 357 mag was charging me when I ran out of birdshot in my 12 ga. I shot the damn thing six times with the shotgun and just pissed it off. The 357 in the head stopped it though. I would never hunt one for food. Just to tough, kind of like the turkeys in Texas. All you can eat off them is the breast. Legs are so tough you can use them for clubs. Rattle snake isn’t to bad, but real bony.
Thanks for the info LVS! We get spoiled in Iowa because everything is confed. Got a relative who swaps pound for pound elk meat from Colorado with the white tails he shoots up here. Wish there was more rabbits around, I could send you my Grandmas recipe for them. It is amazing!
@wendigo-if you want rabbit just come to my yard. We have them all over here. The yard next to us look like a jungle and the wild life has taken over. We have coons all over the place too and even had a deer running down the sidewalk. Used to be a lot of rabbits when I was growing up. We used to get our three pheasants and a couple of rabbits every time we went out. Then they plowed up all the cover and the coyotes came in and no more rabbits and very few pheasants compared to what it used to be. Damn shame. All we have left to shoot at is liberals and they are not good to eat.
LVS. Agreed sir. Its damn sad. If you happen to shoot a couple of bunnies here is a old trick you probably know of. Quarter them up. After soaking. Make a egg wash. Roll the quarters in the egg. Than in flour with whatever seasoning you like. Pan seer it in oil not cooked through. Than throw it in a casserole dish with half cream of mushroom soup half milk. Mixed equal parts. Let it roll in the oven covered at 225 until it falls apart. Works great on roosters too. None of those left anymore. And if you do cook up some rabbits look me up sir!!!!!
And my recipe to cook liberals is cook them on a board…. throw them away and eat the board! It would taste better!!

@wendigo-thank you. I have had so much stuff stolen by these druggers you wouldn’t believe it. My deductible is $1,200 so everytime they break in and steal my tools it cost me that much. I am sick and tired of that crap.. I am hoping that someday one will screw up and break into the house and that will be the last time.

LVS. The only thing you posted on here that I have ever not agreed with is your 357.mag pref for home defense. I know this is a chevy over ford debate. But a 12 gauge full of #4 buck or OObuck will treat you better sir! Not much withstands a scatter gun. @wendigo-you must have misunderstood me. My 357 is a Sig and I have three 12 ga. two are loaded at all times with 00 Buck and the third is loaded with rifled deer slugs. I also have rifles that are loaded and am known as a excellent shot with any of my weapons. I have hunted in Texas, New Mexico, Iowa of course, Minnesota and Wisconsin. I have shot deer, antelope, black bear, mountain lion, quail, dove, pheasant, duck, geese and havalina and wild hogs. I always hit what I aim at. I have a reason for favoring the pistol although in the house that 12 ga will certainly get their attention.

@USMC NorthEnd’ers didn’t start posting about the Northend until the discriminating views started here on NIT. Every time something happens on the North End, it is pointed out in large print headlines. However, South End crime is not mentioned. It has been mentioned in the comments that “we should burn this side of town down”, “we’re all from the ghetto”, “don’t get out of your car in that area of town”, and my favorite “sounds of gunshots and bullets flying overhead”.
Now it appears that you also care about the same thing as you seem to be getting defensive when the increased crime rate on the Southend is being mentioned. We can dismiss it as people flaming in the comments section, but this is how more serious things get started. I’m a very well educated, self-supporting family man who does not drink excessively, do drugs, or conceal a weapon. Just pointing out the stereotypes are often very, very wrong. I’m sure as a veteran, you’ve experienced the same stereotypes in the past as well.
@Concerned-It has been awhile since I have heard gunshots. I had forgotten about that. There were a few last summer I believe. There is always some idiot who shoots off a gun instead of fireworks. I guess they never heard what goes up must come down. We used to hear them every night but it stopped when they shut down Alley Cats and all those folks moved to the Eleven Club downtown.
It is to bad we can’t put these people away for gross stupidity. Some folks think this doesn’t matter but we spent money on this jerk and no matter what the fine we will not get it back. They will take his license away until it is paid but he won’t care as he has no intention of paying the fine and really doesn’t care if he has a license anyway.
“Wanted Man”? Geez I thought he was gonna be a bank robber. Turns out it’s his 3rd OWI and just stupid enough to get back out driving with a suspended license, but now it’s now a felony. Glad this “wanted man” was removed from our streets
