Cops rid apartment house of drug man

MASON CITY – Police picked up a man wanted on drug charges Monday evening.

According to a report, Raymond L. Hayes was sought by police on a warrant for probation revocation on charges of possession of meth and marijuana. A judge had ordered the warrant after the Iowa Department of Corrections reported a second probation violation in the last 5 months against Hayes. Hayes owes all of the $1,156.93 in court costs, fees, and fines that were imposed upon him by Judge Collen Weiland after she sentenced Hayes to two years of probation and a suspended two year prison sentence in 2012.

Police went Hayes’ apartment at 333 West State Street and arrested him Monday evening.

Hayes is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $2,000.00 cash-only bond as he awaits a December 20th court date.
