BALTIMORE – The Vikings lost their ninth game of the year Sunday, this time dropping a back-and-forth battle in heavy snow to the Super Bowl Campion Baltimore Ravens, 29-26.

In another loss in a forgettable season, likely most alarming to Viking fans was that superstar running back Adrian Peterson left the game in the second quarter with a sprain.

“I’ll get an MRI tomorrow, and will find out more,” Peterson said later.

“The update is sprained foot so far.  I will learn more this week,” Vickings coach Leslie Frazier said at a post-game news conference.

Regarding the game, the Vikes and Ravens put together a storm of scores in the last couple of minutes.  The two teams combined for five touchdowns in the final 2:09 in the 29-26 Ravens victory.  There were 6 lead changes in the 4th quarter.

“All we can do is stay together and keep fighting,”  coach Frazier said after the game.  “This is tough for our guys.”

Vikings quarterback Matt Cassel said “It’s a tough loss.” He threw a 79-yard touchdown pass to Cordarrelle Patterson with 45 seconds to play before Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to rookie Marlon Brown with 4 seconds left to seal the victory.

The Vikings fell to 3-9-1 on the season.  They face the Philadelphia Eagles at home next week.
