NIACC Trojan Tennis Club Hosts Tournament

MASON CITY – The North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) Tennis Club is hosting the second annual Tennis Tournament December 13, 14 and 15 at the NIACC Recreation Center. The cost is $15 for a doubles and $10 for singles depending on the numbers. The cost for NIACC students is covered as part of their student fees.

This tournament is open to all high school and college students in the Northern Iowa and Southern Minnesota area.

“We are excited to bring the opportunity for indoor tennis to our local North Iowa and Southern Minnesota college and high school players,” said Jamie T. Zanios, NIACC Tennis Club Advisor.

“We are especially pleased that tennis pro and coach, Su Oertel is the tournament director supporting this event. The upcoming tennis tournament is designed to allow our students a jump start on their tennis game before the season opens outside. The lack of indoor facilities hampers our local players and having two courts at NIACC which we can open for local area use by our students and local area students is exciting. The NIACC Tennis Club is sponsoring this event and is looking forward to new members joining the club next year. We encourage all area high school and college age tennis players from North Iowa and Southern Minnesota to register and come enjoy three days of tennis, meet new friends and enjoy the NIACC Recreation Center.”

Schedule: Friday, December 13 at 5:00 pm:

·         Round Robin Pro set play to maximize court time

·         There will be scheduled play time.
