MASON CITY – The NIACC men’s basketball team is ranked No. 16 in the NJCAA Division II poll released Tuesday.
NIACC (10-2 overall, 0-1 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday at home against Marshalltown Community College (4-4 overall). Game time is set for 7 p.m. in the NIACC gym.
NIACC is one of four ICCAC teams ranked in the NJCAA Division II poll. Ellsworth (9-1 overall) is ranked fifth, Kirkwood (7-2 overall) is ranked 11th and DMACC (9-2 overall) is ranked 18th.
NIACC has won four straight games since dropping its conference opener to DMACC on Nov. 20.
Sophomore David Humphries (Adelaide, Australia) averages 25.2 points per game to lead NIACC. Sophomore Sam Skogen (Mason City, Ia.) averages 11.6 points per game and sophomore Matthew Don (London, England) averages 11.0 points per game.
Humphries also leads the Trojans with 25 steals and 25 3-point goals. Freshman Al Davis (Colorado Springs, Col.) leads the team with 48 assists.
