Cyclone women beat UNI, 83-55

logo_iowa_state_cyclonesAMES – The 20th-ranked Iowa State women’s basketball team (7-0, 0-0 Big 12) defeated the UNI Panthers (2-6, 0-0 Missouri Valley) 83-55 Wednesday evening, extending Iowa State’s nonconference home win streak to 73 consecutive games.

The Cyclones used a 16-0 run to halt the Panthers in the first half, catapulting to a 17-point halftime lead, 43-26. Senior Hallie Christofferson led all scorers with 13 first-half points in just 12 minutes, while freshman Seanna Johnson nabbed eight points and nine rebounds to close the first.

Seanna Johnson. Johnson recorded her second career double-double with 14 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Johnson has now scored in double-figures the last five games and has recorded 10 or more rebounds on two occasions.
