MASON CITY – The NIACC wrestling team is ranked third in the NJCAA Wrestling Coaches Association poll .
NIACC was fourth in the initial poll of the season.
North Idaho and Northwest Wyoming are ranked first and second. Ellsworth is ranked No. 8, Iowa Western is No. 10 and Iowa Lakes is No. 13.
Freshman Yoanse Mejias (Miami, Fla.) is ranked second at 157 pounds, sophomore Shakheim Chapman (Gurnee, Ill.) is second at 197 pounds and sophomore Alex Stockton (Gardner, Ia.) is second at 285 pounds.
Also for NIACC, sophomore Blake Spotts (Nora Springs, Ia.) is fourth at 141 pounds, freshman Nosomy Pozo (Miami, Fla.) is fifth at 149 pounds, freshman Tristan Luther (Verona, Wis.) is 12th at 165 pounds and freshman Andy Glaser (Ionia, Ia.) is ninth at 184 pounds.
NIACC returns to action Saturday at the Simpson College Invitational in Indianola.
