MASON CITY – Mercy marked the opening of its new Urgent Care Clinic on Monday, December 2nd, 2013.
“We’re excited about our Urgent Care service opening today in our Regency location,” Mercy tweeted Monday afternoon.
According to Mercy’s website, Mercy’s Urgent Care Clinic is “for people who have a sudden illness or injury and who need to see a doctor right away. Our providers are experts in diagnosis and treatment of medical problems needing immediate care. We offer the convenience and excellence of experts, when you need them.”
Mercy said that persons with the following ailments can seek medical attention at the Urgent Care Clinic: Sprains, Strains, Mild asthma attacks, Minor infections, Small cuts, Sore throats, Rashes, Urinary tract infections, Respiratory infections.
Patients are seen on a “first-come, first serve basis” with the exception of priority conditions predetermined by triage. “Some conditions require immediate evaluation and those patients are given priority.”
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, Noon – 8:00 p.m. and weekends 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Normal clinic charges will apply, according to Mercy. “Co-payments are usually lower for urgent care visits compared to emergency room visits.”
The Regency location – 621 South Illinois Avenue – is only temporary, Mercy says. The Mercy Urgent Care Clinic will be relocated to Willowbrook Mall in Spring of 2014.
