LAS VEGAS – The 23rd-ranked Iowa State women’s basketball team (6-0, 0-0 Big 12) defeated the Auburn Tigers (4-3, 0-0 SEC) 68-57 at South Point Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Iowa State improves to 6-0 for the first time since the 2001-02 season with the win.
Iowa State started off shaky as the Cyclones trailed by 11 with just eight minutes remaining in the first half. Sophomore Kidd Blaskowsky had the Cyclones covered with a few perfectly timed three’s to keep the Cyclones alive. Iowa State would mount a gritty comeback to close the half with a one-point lead, 33-23 at the half.
Iowa State would go on an 11-4 run to start the second half and they wouldn’t look back from there, grabbing as much as a 13-point lead late in the game..

Seanna Johnson. Johnson kept Iowa State alive with several key baskets in the first half when the Tigers took an 11-point lead. Johnson finished the first half with 11 points and two rebounds. In the second half she chipped in six more points and ended with 17 points and five rebounds.
