WEST UNION, IOWA – The mother of a slain Iowa girl was arrested this week on drug charges after an investigation by law enforcement.
Misty June Marie Morrissey (Cook), the mother of Lyric Cook, has been arrested by Fayette County authorities after a week-long drug investigation.
According to a report from the Fayette County Sheriff, after a week long investigation, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and the West Union Police Department executed a search warrant at 100 E Franklin Street in West Union, on 11/25/2013 at 3:00 P.M. Deputies and Officers searched the residence of Misty June Marie Morrissey (Cook), age 36 and Todd Michael Henriksen, age 25 both formerly from waterloo but now living in West Union.
The investigation uncovered an operation of possession/sales of methamphetamine and marijuana over the last few months. Deputies recovered a large amount of cash, drugs, digital scales, packaging and evidence showing the distribution of controlled substances.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office arrested Morrissey and charged her with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (Crystal Meth), a class “C” felony; possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a class “D” Felony; ongoing criminal conduct, a Class “B” felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia. If she is convicted on all counts she could serve up to 50 years in prison.
Henriksen was also arrested and charged with delivery of a controlled substance (Cystal Meth), a class “C” felony; possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (marijuana), a class “D” felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all counts he could face up to 15 years in prison.
The sheriff’s office indicated that it will be going over all the evidence and more person could be charged at a later date.
