IOWA CITY – Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz said Tuesday that he recognizes that his football team has a big challenge ahead of itself Saturday in the Michigan State Spartans.
“Their running attack is starting to kick into gear, I imagine the way they want it,” Mr. Ferentz said. “They looked good last time out and they’re giving up a ridiculously small number of yards per game rushingwise right now.”
Iowa, known for its powerful rushing attack, has one of the nation’s leading rushers in Mark Weisman.
The Spartans bring a 3-1 overall record to Kinnick Stadium. The Spartans lost last week on the road at Notre Dame. Iowa sports a 4-1 overall record and beat Minnesota last week in Minneapolis.
