AMES, Iowa – Sept. 18, 2013 – Nighttime road construction work to grind and retexture the pavement on northbound Interstate 35 between 13th Street (exit 113) near Ames and Story County Road E-18 (exit 123) near Story City will require alternating lane closures from 9 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Sundays and from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays beginning Sunday, Sept. 22, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Marshalltown construction office.
This project is expected to be completed by early October.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
