MASON CITY – The NIACC soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Marshalltown Community College Saturday afternoon.
NIACC trailed 2-0 at the half and trimmed the deficit to 2-1 with a goal from sophomore Mohamed Yual (Des Moines, Ia.) on a header with five minutes left in the contest.
Yual’s goal came on a corner-kick assist from sophomore Leo Driscoll (Huddersfield, UK).
Marshalltown received first-half goals from sophomore Ralph Duopu and freshman John Krause.
Marshalltown improved to 7-2-1 overall and 3-1 in the ICCAC.
NIACC (1-5 overall, 0-3 in the league) returns to action Wednesday at home against No. 4 Iowa Western. The match starts at 4 p.m.
