Mason City couple finds uninvited man in home watching TV; drunk man later arrested

MASON CITY – A Mason City couple woke up in the middle of the night and found an uninvited guest in their home, watching TV.

According to Mason City police, they were alerted by a couple at the 800 block of North Madison Avenue early Saturday morning who said there was a man in their living room watching TV.  The man proceeded to leave the house.  Police were able to apprehend an intoxicated man a short distance away and then take him back to the house to be identified.  The couple refused to identify him.

Minutes after the uninvited man left, at around 4:20 am Saturday morning, Zachariah Wilson Kezar, age 26, was arrested for Public Intoxication at the 200 block of North Madison Avenue and was taken to jail.

At 5:11 AM, the arresting officer performed a breathalyzer test on a subject; it was the only test the officer performed that day.  The subject blew 0.248 and 0.247, over three times the legal limit.

I read in the GLOB this morning that the man was confused. Is it possible that he had some type of metal issue going on. I remember another gentleman one time who was confused because he was getting senile and got in the wrong car, put his key in it and started the car and drove it home. He put the car in his garage and when the police showed up they were civil enough to know that it was an honest mistake. In other words, we don’t know the circumstance here and should not make judgements until we do.

Oops. Take me drink officer, Im home.

AW! come one – years ago I remember this would happen alot – Okay booky got away with one .

infamous infamous infamous infamous you are a pretty cool dude!!! People like you are infamous infamous infamous.

Why if they chose not to identify this man did they waste the tax payers money and the officers time? It’s people like this that piss me off- in order to nip this in the bud~ I say start charging (in the form of a civil penalty or fine, ect…) people who call 911 then decide to not cooperate!! maybe it’ll finally sink in people’s heads that bullshit like this won’t be tolerated or put up with!! Every other service provided these days seem to have some sort of cost, why not add something along that line?

Why would you go to bed and not lock your doors?

well sarge so u can understand it il keep it short i hope the victims actually get help from these dirty pigs in this case unlike others in this townthat get victomized by the so called justice system mcpd is a discrase to all law enforcement do u understand that sarge or do u have shell shock

They didn’t want to press charges.

Punctuation is your friend.

What are you saying (infamous) you really need to learn how to write so we know whats going on, Also these guys just need to be shot in your house. they might think twice next time. At my house I dont have much ammo so there wont be a warning shot.

Yo, put a rubber band around your head and snap out of it!

‘infamous’ Charges for entering the home were not brought against him because the home owner refused to identify him when the officers caught him.
