Border patrol arrests convicted sexual predators

Tucson, Ariz. — During the month of August, Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended 10 convicted sex offenders including one with a gang affiliation to the Brown Pride Locotes.

A majority of the sex offenders apprehended were previously convicted for sexual assaults against children: rape of a child, sodomy (victim under 10 years) and aggravated sexual battery against a minor under 13.

The subjects, from Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala, were previously charged, convicted and removed from the U.S. for their crimes but were apprehended last month by Border Patrol agents for illegal re-entry into the country. Some had warrants for their arrest due to probation violations pertaining to their previous crimes. All were processed for prosecution and removal proceedings in accordance with Tucson Sector prosecution guidelines.
