MASON CITY – The Mason City Mohawks football team will face another stiff test Friday night as they battle the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks at Mohawk Field.
Both teams are coming off losses.
Waverly dropped a close game to highly-ranked Decorah 17-14 last week while Mason City lost on the road to Clear Lake, 41-20.
“We are committed to improving and demonstrating our best on Friday night,” Mohawk Coach Justin Penner said earlier this week.
The Sophomore game is at 5pm and the Varsity game kicks off at 7:30pm.
I sure hope they can win. I really do. We have a nephew on the team who is a senior and it would be nice if he could have one winning year. Losing can become a habit.
The kids and coaches have worked very hard this season. All ages have shown improvement. The new passing attack is fun to watch. Support the team and enjoy. Go Mohawks!
