IOWA CITY – Two persons were killed and three injured in a two car accident just east of Tiffin, Iowa on Highway 6 Saturday evening.
According to a report, at about 7 PM Saturday, August 10th, a Chevrolet pickup was southbound on Jasper Avenue and ran a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 6, striking an eastbound Nissa Xterra.
The driver of the Chevrolet pickup apparently fled the scene on foot.
The aftermath was a passenger in the Chevrolet pickup, 31 year-old Juan Castillo Moreno of Iowa City, was injured and taken to University of Iowa Hospitals with unknown injuries.
In the Xterra vehicle, two couples were in the vehicle: Troy Nelson Liddell, age 50 and his wife Martha Ann Liddell, age 48; and Todd Niebell Liddell, age 50 and his wife Kelly Rae Liddell, age 48. Troy Liddell and Kelly Liddell were killed. Todd Liddell and Martha Liddell were injured and taken to Univeristy of Iowa Hospitals with unknown injuries.
Multiple emergency agencies responded to the scene.
