MASON CITY – A lawsuit filed against the City of Mason City by a former city employee has a verdict Monday and the verdict favored the city.
According to a source, the jury awarded Ann Butcher zero damages. She had been seeking about $150,000 plus attorney’s fees, the source said Monday at about 12:15 PM.
Numerous witnesses, including high-ranking city employees, were called to testify in the case.
Butcher had claimed discrimination from city officials in getting passed over for job promotions.
