NIACC still alive in NJCAA Division II World Series

niacc_trojans_logoFive teams remain in the NJCAA Division II World Series.

LSU-Eunice and Heartland Community College are the only two teams without a loss. Those two teams play at 7 p.m. tonight at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

The other three teams remaining (NIACC, Murray State and Madison College) all have one loss. So every game from here on out for these three teams is an elimination game.

NIACC and Murray State play at 3:30 p.m. today. So after that game the tournament will have its final four.

The LSU-Eunice/Heartland winner faces Madison at 7 p.m. Thursday. The LSU-Eunice/Heartland loser faces the NIACC/Murray State winner in an elimination game at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

If LSU-Eunice or Heartland eliminates Madison on Thursday, there will be two teams remaining after the LSU-Eunice/Heartland vs. NIACC/Murray State elimination game at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

If there are two teams remaining, a first championship game will be played at 7 p.m. Friday. If the team that hasn’t loss defeats the team with one loss, they are the champion.

If the team that has one loss tops the team without any previous losses, a second title game will be played at 7 p.m. Saturday.

If Madison beats either LSU-Eunice or Heartland on Thursday, three teams will remain heading into Friday.

The team with the most games played shall receive a bye into the Saturday championship. The other two teams will play at 7 p.m. Friday. If there is a tie for most games played, a coin toss will be used to determine who gets the bye into the Saturday title game.

Heading into play on Wednesday, LSU-Eunice has played two games, Heartland has played two games, Madison has played four games, NIACC has played three games and Murray State has played three games.
