LAS VEGAS, May 19 (UPI) — Three people were killed and four others were critically injured Sunday in a collision involving an apparent wrong-way driver in Las Vegas, police said.
The Nevada Highway Patrol said an Acura was traveling north in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 and plowed into an oncoming sport utility vehicle.
Both drivers and a passenger in the SUV were killed. Four others were taken to hospitals in critical condition, investigators told KLAS-TV, Las Vegas.
Traffic around the Las Vegas Motor Speedway was detoured while the scene was cleared.
