Body of missing 18-month-old likely found

OTTAWA, Kan., May 12 (UPI) — Authorities in Kansas said they believe they found the remains of 18-month-old Lana Bailey, whose mother and two others were found dead in a farm last week.

Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards said the remains found Saturday in neighboring Osage County were likely those of the toddler, though a positive identification could not yet be made.

“It is with great sadness that I report a body found in Osage County is believed to be the remains of 18-month-old Lana Bailey,” he said, quoted by The Kansas City (Mo.) Star. “I want the family of Lana, and all of the victims, to know that this investigation will continue until we are confident we have collected as much evidence as we can to ensure justice is served on behalf of all four victims.”

Lana’s mother, 21-year-old Kaylie Bailey and Andrew Stout, 30, and Steven White, 31, were found dead Monday on a farm near Ottawa. Kaylie had been visiting Stout and White.

Kyle Flack — who used to live on the farm, but had been ordered to leave by Stout — was charged with four counts of murder, two of capital murder and one of rape. Flack is next scheduled to appear in court Monday.
