BAGHDAD, May 6 (UPI) — Bombings in Baghdad and Mosul, Iraq, killed seven people and wounded 16, Iraqi police said Monday.
A roadside bomb, detonated near a restaurant in southern Baghdad, killed two people and injured two, CNN reported.
A car bomb was set off in Mosul near a police checkpoint, killing three people.
A suicide bomber blew himself up near an army checkpoint in Mosul and killed two others.
CNN said sectarian violence between Sunni and Shiite Muslims has been on the rise in Iraq.
