At least four dead, five injured in roadside bomb in Afghanistan

KORGHAN, Afghanistan, May 5 (UPI) — A roadside bomb in the western Farah province in Afghanistan killed at least four people and injured five others Sunday, officials said.

Provincial governor spokesman Abdul Rahman Zhwandai said the explosion occurred at 6:30 a.m. local time when a civilian vehicle struck the improvised explosive device in Korghan village in Khak-e-Safid district.

The victims were all residents of Korghan village and were on their way to the center of the district when the explosion happened, Zhwandai said.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, although officials suspect the Taliban, which are known for using IEDs, Khaama Press reported.
