LONDON, April 30 (UPI) — One of the people arrested on suspicion of an acid attack in London has been cleared, police said.
Police said no charges will be filed against the 28-year-old man, the Barking and Dagenham Post reported. A 21-year-old woman who was also arrested in February on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm remains a suspect.
Naomi Oni, 21, a clerk at a Victoria’s Secret store, told investigators acid was thrown in her face as she got off a bus Dec. 30 near her home in the east London neighborhood of Dagenham. She said her attacker wore a veil.
Oni was severely injured and left partly blind. She had to be hospitalized for weeks.
