PITTSBURGH, April 16 (UPI) — Allen Craig drove in three runs and Jon Jay went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI Tuesday in the St. Louis Cardinals’ 10-6 victory over Pittsburgh.
Yadier Molina and Matt Holliday each provided two hits as St. Louis took the opener of a three-game road series and claimed their fifth win in six contests overall.
Lance Lynn (2-0) earned the decision, allowing four runs and seven hits in five innings.
Pirates starter James McDonald (1-2), meanwhile, was pounded for eight runs (three earned) on eight hits over just 1 2/3 innings.
Neil Walker socked a solo homer and Starling Marte added three hits for Pittsburgh.
