MASON CITY – Hampton-Dumont’s Taryn Barz scored 19 points and Mason City’s Cortni Rush scored 17 points to lead the Gold team to a 74-63 victory over the Blue team at NIACC’s annual prep girls basketball game Sunday in the NIACC gym.
Osage’s Whitney Wagner led the Blue team with 22 points and West Hancock’s Anna Mallen scored 16 points.
In the boys all-star game, Osage’s Tanner Flugge scored 13 points and West Fork’s Payton Plagge scored 12 points to lead the Blue team to a 83-71 victory over the Gold team.
Newman Catholic’s Casey Hall led the Gold team with 19 points and North Iowa’s Troy Kettwick scored 15 points.
In the 3-point contest, Rush was the girls winner and Garner-Hayfield/Ventura’s Zach Buseman was the boys winner. Buseman topped Rush to win the overall 3-point title.
