KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Iowa State men’s basketball players Melvin Ejim and Will Clyburn were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 8 Second Team, announced today by the NABC.
Ejim, a junior from Toronto, Ontario, led the Big 12 in rebounding (9.3) and double-doubles (15) in 2012-13. Ejim averaged 11.3 points and grabbed 326 boards on the year, tying for sixth on ISU’s single-season rebounding list.
Clyburn, a senior from Detroit, Mich., led the Cyclones in scoring (14.9) and was second on the team in rebounding at 6.8 rpg. Clyburn ended the season with 149 free-throws made, the 13th-best single-season total in school history.
The duo was instrumental in helping ISU earn its second-straight NCAA Tournament berth and 23-win season in 2012-13. Clyburn was an All-Big 12 Second Team pick and Ejim earned All-Big 12 Third Team honors.
Clyburn is a two-time NABC All-District honoree, earning All-District 17 accolades from the NABC in 2011 at Utah.
