IOWA CITY – Iowa beat Stony Brook 75-63 Friday night at Carver Hawkeye Arena.

Iowa advances to the NIT third round game, where they will meet either top-seeded Virginia or fifth-seeded St. John’s on Wednesday night, with a trip to Madison Square Garden on the line. Iowa plays at home if St. John’s wins.

Iowa set the school single-season record for home victories in a season (18) with its victory over Stony Brook. The Hawkeyes are 18-2 inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena this season.

The Hawkeyes had five blocks in the game, giving them a single-season school record of 175.

Roy Devyn Marble scored a game-high 28 points, the third-highest point output in his career. Marble has 11 career 20+ scoring games, and has led Iowa in scoring 15 times this season.

“He was phenomenal tonight,” said Iowa Coach Fran McCaffery. “He handled the ball, got to the free throw line. He set the tone in a lot of ways. When I look at the stats, I look for things that jump out at me, and the thing that jumps out at me is 20 assists and 26 baskets.”

Iowa improves to 16-2 this season when scoring at least 70 points.
