KANSAS CITY, Mo., March 19 (UPI) — A Missouri man lost two of his limbs after falling into an industrial shredding machine at a downtown tire recycling company, Kansas City firefighters said.
The man, whose identity was not released, was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, KCTV in Kansas City, Mo. reported.
A fire department spokesman said when crews arrived at the accident scene they were told they had to rescue an employee who had fallen into a tire shredder feet first.
Officials from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the accident along with the Kansas City Fire Department.
